Andrew Brown Family

Andrew Brown was born June 18, 1836, in Glasgow, Scotland. Sept. 26, 1849, he took passage on the ship Natakdice to go from Glasgow to Kingston, Jamaica. He arrived Oct. 27, 1849. He worked for a planter until he removed to the United States.
After a few years, he moved to Ohio, then to Minnesota, and then to Ohio. He was reputed to not like the “cold climate” of America, due to his years in the West Indies.
In approx. 1858 he married Elizabeth Hallman in Illinois. Elizabeth was born in November of 1837/38 in Penn. Her parents were Benjamin Hallman and Catharine Wittes Hallman.
They had 9 children.
1- Ellen Catherine Brown was born Sept. 2, 1859, in Minnesota. She married Joseph Vincent Bossi July 29, 1884, in Cowley County, Ks. She died January 4, 1945 in Cowley County, Ks.
2 - Mary Isabelle Brown was born April 20, 1861 in Minnesota. She married Andrew J. Eslick before 1878. She died July 5, 1950 in Bigfork, Montana.
3 - Andrew Brown Jr. He was born in 1864 in Iowa. He was married. He died in 1908 in Rossville, Oklahoma.
4 - Hester Brown was born in 1866 in Iowa. In 1901 she married Milbern Evert Saunders. She died in 1951 in Cowley County, Kansas.
5 - John Brown was born in 1868 in Iowa. He died before 1924.
6 - John Brown. He was born in April 1869 in Iowa and died before 1924.
7 - George Brown was born in March 1872 in Union County, South Dakota, and died before 1924. He married Lillie Klar about 1898.
8 - Franklin Vivian Brown was born April 10, 1875, in Union County, South Dakota, and died July 11, 1953, in Kern County, California. He married Della Dorthea Wilson on June 6, 1898, in Kansas.
9 - Martha Anna Brown was born March 22, 1878, in Lafayette, Iowa, and died July 4, 1957, in Delano, California. She married Clarence Edward Brocksteper on July 4, 1903, in Los Angeles, California.
