J. P. Short has leased ground on Ninth Avenue to Weston & Hyskell, who are erecting a hardware and stove store. He is also putting up a building adjoining, which will be occupied by Col. McMullen’s bank. This makes six new business buildings that have gone up on that street within the last thirty days.

Mr. J. T. Weston, late of Creston, Iowa, has been stopping for a few weeks in our city, and has decided to permanently locate among us. He is building a business house on 9th avenue, just east of McCommon & Harter’s drug store, in which he intends engaging in the stove and tinware business. Mr. Weston is a good workman and will give general satisfaction.

Mr. J. L. Berkey, the agricultural implement man, and Mr. J. T. Weston, the hardware and tinware man, have formed a part­nership in the hardware, tin, and agricultural implement business with their headquarters at the Page building, Weston’s late stand. This will make a strong business firm. Both the gentle­men are active and enterprising.

The firm of Berkey & Weston is this day dissolved by mutual consent, J. L. Berkey taking the Agricultural department, and J. T. Weston the Hardware; J. L. W. T. Roland & Son have succeeded Mr. J. T. Weston in the hardware business. Mr. Weston, by his fair and honorable deal­ing, has worked up a good trade, which his successors will undoubtedly hold.

W. T. Roland & Son have largely increased the business of the Weston hardware store since they came into possession. Mr. Ed. Roland is one of the most gentlemanly and obliging young men in town, and persons trading with them can rely upon everything being just as it is represented.
